Overview

Are you already serving or supplying alcohol to customers? Do you want to work in the hospitality industry?

Then you may need to complete the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course.

Intended for

AVELING’s nationally recognised course is appropriate for many people working in Victoria.

Note: Please check with your employer whether this is the right course for you.

In Victoria you should NOT take this course if you:

• Work in premises with a packaged liquor licence like a bottle shop (both licensees and staff members)
• Work in a venue that has a condition on its liquor licence requiring staff to have completed an RSA approved by the Victorian Director of liquor licensing
• Or you’re applying for a new liquor licence.

(In the cases mentioned above, you must complete an approved face-to-face course in Victoria.)

Learning Outcomes

• Sell or serve alcohol responsibly
• Assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
• Assess alcohol affected customers and identify customers to whom sale or service must be refused
• Refuse service in a polite manner and state reasons for the refusal

Certification

On successful completion participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for the Unit of Competency outlined above from the SIT07 Training Package.
