Managing a Work Area
Overview
Supervisors and team leaders are actively engaged in planning activities to achieve measurable, stated objectives of their teams.
This key role is carried out to provide safe, efficient and effective products and services to customer satisfaction within the organisation's productivity and profitability plans.
This course covers work carried out within routine and non routine methods and procedures, which require planning, evaluation, leadership and guidance of others.
Intended for
Team leaders and supervisors who require the knowledge and skills to plan and organise people and resources to effectively implement operational plans.
Learning Outcomes
- Implement operational plans according to KPI’s and contingency planning
- Recruit and induct employees according to organisational policies and procedures
- Monitor progress towards achieving productivity and targets using performance systems and processes
- Use financial information to monitor performance and take action to rectify unsatisfactory performance
- Assist teams in using resources effectively, economically and safely
Qualification Pathway
Candidates have the option of completing a work based project covering a unit of competency that can contribute to the achievement of a Certificate IV or Diploma qualification.

Certification
On successful completion of workplace assignments, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the nominated Unit of Competency.
