01/08/2009 Successful Transition to New Online WA White Card Course

AVELING is excited to announce the successful transition of its online construction safety awareness course to the nationally accredited unit of competency, CPCCOHS1001A: Work safely in the construction industry (also known as the WA Construction White Card Course). Under the Western Australian Occupational Safety And Health Act 1984, anyone who will work on a WA construction site must complete the new Construction White Card Course.

The course is nationally recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework by the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) and also meets the requirements of WorkSafe WA and Safe Work Australia.

The total duration of the course is four hours and covers essential occupational safety and health (OSH) topics relevant to people working in construction including: OSH legislation, managing workplace risk, safe work practises and environmental factors. People with previous relevant OSH experience may be able to complete the course faster by undertaking Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessments, which allow them to demonstrate prior knowledge and fast-track the completion process.

This new course (formerly Blue Card) replaces '51466 Course in Safety Awareness Training' (Blue Card) and all Registered Training Providers (RTOs) across Australia must deliver the course from 1st September 2009.
