04/09/2009 AVELING Honoured to be Finalist of the WA Training Awards 2009

AVELING is honoured to have been nominated as a finalist of the WA Training Awards 2009 in the category of 'WA Training Initiative Award'. The Award is hosted by the Government of Western Australia, Department of Education and Training.

This nomination is testament to our high quality, engaging e-learning solutions, which demonstrates the positive and meaningful impact on both regional and remote Western Australia, as well as the greater VET sector in Australia.

The Award is sponsored by The Chamber of Minerals and Energy and recognises innovative and/or leading practice initiatives, programs or products developed and implemented for the purpose of providing high quality vocational education and training.

AVELING’s nomination for the award is based on our suite of internally developed online training solutions, namely:

  • The WA Blue/White Card online course
  • The Responsible Service of Alcohol online course
  • The underlying course management and hosting solution called the AVELING Online Training Portal

Mark King, the Business Manager of AVELING’s e-learning division, made the following statement regarding the finalist nomination:

"We're absolutely delighted to have come so far in so short a time period and be a finalist for such a prestigious award. The nomination cements AVELING’s place as a significant player within the e-learning market and affirms that online learning is a viable, effective and valuable means of meeting the unique training needs of regional and remote WA."

AVELING came across strong but prestigious competition for the Award, including Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Macmahon/BHP Billiton Iron Ore and the Department of Corrective Services, who we wish to congratulate on their win.

Our solutions allow us to offer highly effective and engaging online training services to those who may not otherwise have access to training. Of the many thousands of users who have successfully completed our online courses, about 30% are from outside the Perth metropolitan area.

This demonstrates how easy it is for users to successfully acquire essential skills and qualifications from any location.
