MARCSTA Surface (Mining) Course Information

MARCSTA is a nationally accredited course providing essential training for new and existing employees and contractors in the Mining and Resource Industry.

MARCSTA issues Certificates of Completion to successful participants. This course aligns with the Metalliferous Training Package "Work Safely MNMG202A" unit of competency. To obtain a Statement of Attainment, candidates must demonstrate competency in the workplace. To assist, AVELING can provide a log book for this purpose.

All elements of general mine safety are included in the course including following site safety procedures and applying personal safety measures. Participants are also taken through incident reporting and applying emergency procedures, as well as different aspects of maintaining personal well being.

The MARCSTA certification is valid for two years after which participants can undertake a half-day refresher course to maintain their certification.

Please note: You do not need a MARCSTA certificate to work at some mines and having a MARCSTA does not guarantee employment.
