Overview
This course is designed for managers and supervisors who play a key role in the implementation and management of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program.
The course will introduce participants to their statutory OHS responsibilities. This includes an understanding of risk management and the duty of care requirements essential to the provision of a safe working environment.
Intended for
Current supervisors, team leaders or managers without any formal OHS training, who need to understand their OHS obligations.
Learning Outcomes
- Provide information to their workgroup about OHS policies and procedures
- Identify hazards and assess risk
- Implement procedures for controlling risk
- Implement procedures for maintaining OHS records
Unit of Competency
Candidates have the option of completing a work based project covering a unit of competency that can contribute to the achievement of a Certificate IV or Diploma qualification.

Certification
On successful completion of workplace assignments, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the nominated Unit of Competency.

- Minimum dress standard - neat casual, enclosed footwear and no singlets

Non-attendance or cancellation within two working days, will incur full cost.
