Overview

This practical, two day course is designed for people who want to design, develop and plan a course without having to complete the full TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Program design and development is a major process that impacts significantly on the effectiveness of the learning process.

The benefit for an individual Skill Set is that it offers a flexible pathway to obtain an accredited qualification.

Intended for

People who coordinate and are involved in the planning phase, design process and development of training courses.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and source training packages and courses
  • Select competency standards to meet organisational needs
  • Identify the delivery and assessment requirements
  • Develop a session plan
  • Design appropriate assessment tools that enable a candidate to prove competence.

Skill Set Structure

The Design, Develop and Plan a Course Skill Set forms part of TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The skill set is delivered over two (2) days.

Units of Competency

  • TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs
  • TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs

Certification

A Statement of Attainments for the Units of Competency outlined above from the TAE10 Training Package, will be issued on successful completion and subsequent assessment of:

  • Participation during course activities
  • Design and development of learning programs
  • Completion of workplace assignments

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

People can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if they think they already have the experience relevant to the individual Units of Competency or full qualification.

Prerequisites

To keep this course accessible, individuals who identify with language, literacy or other disabilities will be interviewed by the Trainer/Assessor to establish the most appropriate support mechanisms to be put into place. Such support could include additional time to complete written work or the use of a support person during assessment.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a booking for a course that runs for two or more days, 8 working days are required to enable a full refund, if between 4 and 7 working days a 50% fee will be incurred. Any cancellation less than 3 working days will incur full costs.
