Trainer Skill Set

Overview

This practical, five day Trainer Skill Set is designed for people who want to become a qualified
on-the-job instructional trainer without having to complete the full TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The benefit for an individual Skill Set is that it offers a flexible pathway to obtain an accredited qualification.

Intended for

People who conduct small group and one-on-one training or are required to develop presentation materials in for the workplace.

  • Understand the fundamentals of learning
  • Facilitate individual learning
  • Facilitate work-based learning
  • Make an effective presentation

Skill Set Structure

The Trainer Skill Set forms part of TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The skill set is delivered over five (5) days.

Units of Competency

  • TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
  • TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace
  • TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction
  • TAEDEL404A Mentor in the workplace
  • BSBCMN401A Make a presentation

Certification

A Statement of Attainment for the Units of Competency outlined above from the TAE10 Training Package, will be issued on successful completion and subsequent assessment of:

  • Participation during course activities
  • Preparation and presentation of a training session
  • Completion of workplace assignments

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

People can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if they think they already have the experience relevant to the individual Units of Competency or full qualification.

Prerequisites

To keep this course accessible, individuals who identify with language, literacy or other disabilities will be interviewed by the Trainer/Assessor to establish the most appropriate support mechanisms to be put into place. Such support could include additional time to complete written work or the use of a support person during assessment.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel a booking for a course that runs for two or more days, 8 working days are required to enable a full refund, if between 4 and 7 working days a 50% fee will be incurred. Any cancellation less than 3 working days will incur full costs.
