This is an online course, however there are post-course assessments which require ongoing access to an operational food preparation area and a qualified person to observe you complete food handling tasks – if you do not have access to these, you are advised to find an alternative course that better suits your needs.
In most states and territories, retail food businesses involved in the preparation, distribution, supply and sale of food to the general public must have at least one Food Safety Supervisor at the premises.
This requirement exists to reduce the incidents of foodborne illness in the retail food service sectors and improve food handlers’ skills and knowledge.
This skill set provides learners with the skills and knowledge to work hygienically when handling food and to ensure the safety of food during its storage, preparation, display, service and disposal.
This program enables participants to achieve the SITSS00069– Food Safety Supervision Skill Set, which includes the following two nationally recognised Units of Competency:

This course is not suitable for those working in NSW as you require the NSW Food Authority Certificate.
