The Assessor Course will provide the skills and knowledge to develop assessment plans, organise the assessment process and conduct assessments. Create practical and easy to use assessment instruments using benchmarks and units of competency as your base. The program includes information on how to implement recognition of prior learning (RPL) into your assessment process and techniques on various assessment options.
Study at your own pace and location to access course materials. All assessment submissions are done online. The assessments are completed at your own pace, within 12 months from date of enrolment.
2. Classroom training with post course and workplace assessments
AVELING has packaged this program into an intensive three-day classroom training that provides you with comprehensive learning materials including simulated exercises. Post course and workplace assessments are to be completed within 12 months from attending the face to face class.
Note: This course contributes towards the nationally recognised TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Participants in this program will be able to:
- Understand the rules of evidence and principles of assessment;
- Determine assessment approaches;
- Identify modification and contextualisation requirements;
- Plan and organise assessments (including RPL tools);
- Select appropriate assessment methods;
- Conduct assessments using a structured approach; and,
- Participate in and contribute to validation outcomes.

This course includes online / in class assessments (depending on your chosen mode of delivery) and post-course workplace assessments. Workplace assessments must be submitted within 12 months of course completion.
Assurance audits for online courses
AVELING conducts assurance audits on all learners completing nationally recognised online courses to verify identification and ensure the learner completed the course themselves.

AVELING offers free support services to help you complete workplace assessments that are part of a nationally recognised course or qualification. Your Assessment Support person can help you in the planning and preparation of your course assignments and is available via telephone, email, or monthly group workshops.

Anyone who wants to learn how to plan, organise and conduct competency based assessments. This includes developing assessments for nationally recognised training or vocational competencies.
A Statement of Attainment for the Units of Competency TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes, TAEASS402 Assess competence, TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation will be issued after successfully completing:
1. Online Course
- Self paced learning
- Completion of all online tasks
2. Classroom Course
- Attended the course and completed all in-class assessments
- Completed all the post course and relevant workplace assignments.
All assessments must be submitted within 12 months of course completion.
If you have eight (8) or more participants, this course can be presented at your workplace using customised site based examples.
