Aveling’s Local Government Safety Induction online course provides a broad overview of workplace health and safety responsibilities and processes that you may need to be aware of in your employee or contractor role.
It provides an overview of common safety issues and a basic understanding of how to apply safety and emergency procedures. You will explore the legal, safety and process requirements of working for a council.
You’ll learn about worker and employer duty of care and required incident reporting, along with a variety of policies associated with work health and safety (WHS).
WHS covers a broad spectrum of areas for employees and contractors working within local government, requiring you to be across topics from Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), workplace safety procedures and emergency procedures. You’ll also learn about the risks and hazards of confined spaces and working at heights.
This course may have additional content depending on your local government department or council.
