Gain the confidence, knowledge and skills to represent your workplace and carry out the responsibilities of an elected Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in accordance with the WHS Act.
In this comprehensive WorkSafe WA approved course, you’ll learn how to promote a safe work environment, including understanding relevant legislation and how to apply your knowledge as a representative.
Conducting workplace inspections and investigations will be a key focus, enabling you to identify hazards and implement control measures. Effective communication skills will be honed to convey safety information to colleagues and stakeholders.
You’ll also develop the ability to represent employees on safety issues, using negotiation and conflict resolution strategies, and issuing Provisional Improvement Notices.
This course is approved by the Work Health and Safety Commission in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act (WA) 2020. The course covers the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 for those who working in the mining sector.
