This WorkSafe WA approved one-day Health and Safety Representatives Refresher course is designed for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) who have previously completed the five-day course and are ready to refresh their skills and knowledge.
This course will review the main topics covered in the five-day course, as well as updates and developments in safety legislation and initiatives.
It will reinforce how to interpret the work health and safety legislative framework and understand how it relates to your responsibilities as an HSR. This will enable you to effectively advocate for health and safety in your workplace.
Health and Safety Representatives are required to undertake up to one day’s refresher training each year, with the requirement to attend the first refresher training commencing 1 year after the initial training (as per the Work Health Safety (General) Regulations 2022).
This one-day course takes place in the classroom, where learners will work with other safety representatives and participants to share ideas, experiences and personal reflection about their safety culture and practices.

There are no formal assessments or written tests as part of this refresher course, however participants will be expected to take part in activities and demonstrate key skills and knowledge.
This course aims to refresh your skills and knowledge, with the focus on maintaining and developing your personal competency, and the improvement of workplace health and safety (WHS) practice and culture in your workplace.
