Aveling has packaged this Qualification into four sessions that provide the flexibility to undertake the course at your own pace, as well as allow for the time to complete required post-course assessments between each session.
You can undertake these sessions in any order, or as needed, but the recommended order for those new to training in listed below. See individual session webpages for more information.

Each session consists of on course and post course assessments. Whilst each learner is different, it is expected that learners may need to spend between 5-10 hours per week completing the post course assessment tasks for each course. It is estimated that the average time to complete the full qualification is 12 months, but you may wish to complete sessions over a longer period of time as needed.
Learners will need access to a workplace/venue to train and assess others to meet the assessment requirements. See the individual session webpages for full details.

TAESS00019 – Assessor Skill Set
This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people to conduct assessment and operate without supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector, in accordance with the Standards for RTOs.
Supporting and delivering learning in the workplace.
Training and facilitation skills
Planning and delivering face to face training.
Technology requirements
You will need to bring a laptop with word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word) with you to use during the classroom training component. Wifi access is provided free of charge whilst you are in our facility.

Learners applying to a Certificate IV level course are expected to meet the following requirements:
Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Survey
If this is your first Aveling course, you will be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) survey before you start the course.
Based on the outcome of the survey, Aveling may contact you to discuss options that will best suit your individual learning needs. Please note that additional costs may be incurred if literacy support is required.

Our Learner Support Service can provide extra support as needed to help you in understanding the course material or assessments.
Three (3) two-hour support workshop sessions are included free with each session of this qualification. Additional support can be arranged, if needed, at a cost of $120 per hour.
The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment replaces the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment which has been superseded.
Currently, the TAE40116 remains the minimum requirement for VET Trainers and Assessors working at RTOs, along with the TAE40122 version.
