Aveling has packaged this program into an intensive four-day classroom course that provides you with comprehensive learning materials including simulated exercises, in class assessments, plus structured post course assessments to complete after your training.
Assessments
Learners will have 3 months from the last day of the classroom training to complete the assessment requirements. Whilst each learner is different, it is expected that learners may need to spend between 5-10 hours per week completing the post course assessment tasks for each course.
Learners will need access to a workplace/venue to conduct workplace learning and mentoring to meet the assessment requirements for this course. See Entry Requirements section for more details.
Once you have completed this course, you will be able to:
- Establish and develop a professional mentoring relationship in the workplace
- Plan, prepare and implement strategies suited to the mentee
- Plan and facilitate workplace learning
- Customise and implement learning plans and resources
- Determine individual and team development needs
- Develop learning plans
- Support and monitor learning and development in the workplace.
Upon successful completion, you will achieve the following Units of Competency:
- TAEDEL414 Mentor in the workplace
- BSBHRM413 Support the learning and development of teams and individuals
- TAEDEL412 Facilitate workplace-based learning
This course forms one of four sessions of the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.
Technology requirements
You will need to bring a laptop with word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word) with you to use during the classroom training component. Wifi access is provided free of charge whilst you are in our facility.
Competency Requirements
To undertake the TAE40122 qualification, you must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed area of training and assessment via:
- A qualification or Statement of Attainment in your industry, and/or
- Your resume or an outline of your work experience.
Workplace assessments
In order to complete the required post course assessments as part of this course, you must have access to a workplace/venue to conduct workplace learning and mentoring to meet the assessment requirements for this course which include:
- A mentee with whom to facilitate at least 3 mentoring sessions (30 minutes each)
- An individual with whom 3 work based learning sessions (of at least 30 minutes each) can be conducted.
Certificate IV learner requirements
Learners applying to a Certificate IV level course are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Ability to access and use technology to create business documents
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Over 18 years of age
- Minimum of 11 years of schooling, Certificate III qualification or equivalent work experience
Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Survey
If this is your first Aveling course, you will be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) survey before you start the course.
Based on the outcome of the survey, Aveling may contact you to discuss options that will best suit your individual learning needs. Please note that additional costs may be incurred if literacy support is required.
