Understand how to manage and minimise risks associated with work on live low voltage apparatus and panels.
Live low voltage work is generally highly discouraged in favour of work on de-energised apparatus or panels. However, there are exceptional cases where this cannot be avoided, and in this course you will learn how to identify the hazards associated with live low voltage work and how to manage these.
This short online course outlines the safety requirements that must be followed when performing live low voltage work, such as having a safety observer present.
You will learn the fundamental theory around electrical safety and live panels, including how a rescue from a live panel or apparatus takes place, should a worker receive an electric shock.
This course is designed to give a brief introduction to the topic for those new to this type of work, or management looking to understand more. You may need other qualifications before you can do any type of work associated with Low Voltage or any Electrical work.
