TAE Trainer and Assessor

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced TAE trainer and assessor to deliver and assess qualifications that are relevant to the needs of industry and to ensure that learners develop job ready skills.

The position involves contributing to the continuous improvement of course materials as well as validation and moderation of training and assessment.

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate broad experience in training and assessment practice, as well as a strong understanding of the compliance aspects of working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The ability to communicate simply and effectively with lots of different stakeholders is a must.

You will work within the Quality Assurance team to deliver safe, compliant and effective training.

Main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting training and assessment for the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Engaging with learners to provide support through regular contact via phone, email or support workshops
  • Providing expert advice for areas within scope of expertise
  • Involvement in the development and continuous improvement of training initiatives and materials
  • Maintaining learner records and ensuring best practice in relation to compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement and evaluation of training and assessment resources through validation processes
  • Ensuring qualifications and vocational skills are maintained
  • Maintaining commitment to ongoing professional development including strong links with industry
  • Providing quality customer service within a training environment
  • Developing flexible and innovative modes of delivery, focussing on appropriate adult learning techniques and group facilitation
  • Ensuring timely administration of learner results and other administrative requirements
  • Participating in the conduct of training needs analysis and skills audits
  • Assisting to build a culture that recognises diversity, flexibility and inclusiveness to enhance the quality of education and training.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

Qualifications

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, including the unit TAELLN411.

Plus one or both of the following:

  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development.

Knowledge and experience

  • 3-5 years experience delivering nationally recognised training and assessment for an RTO
  • Experience delivering relevant and engaging training to a diverse range of students
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the Standards for RTOs 2015 and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Sound knowledge and experience in using student management systems.

Operations Manager

About the role:

As we enter our 25th year we are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. This new position will support the General Manager, Operations to build and maintain a high level of service excellence.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Effective and successful day-to-day management of staff, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set by the General Manager, Operations;
  • Managing day-to-day operational client relationships;
  • Overseeing the daily operations ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements;
  • Managing and overseeing trainers to ensure client requirements are met;
  • Developing or assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operation of the organisation;
  • Developing and maintaining networks with relevant stakeholders, including government departments and industry organisations to generate business within existing and emerging accounts;
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction with existing clients through robust data to ensure service delivery;
  • Establishing and maintaining credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines and external vendors;
  • Enhancing the operational procedures, systems and principles in the areas of client management and training;
  • Ensuring moderation of training programs to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment methods;
  • Assist in ensuring all training and assessment is consistently delivered to AVELING training and delivery standards;
  • Responding to curriculum and assessment queries;
  • Resolving training issues as they arise;
  • Liaising with the quality assurance team to ensure trainers and assessors engaged by AVELING have the required competencies and are maintained to deliver a high quality training and assessment;
  • Working with the QA team to provide appropriate trainer onboarding and support for their professional development;
  • Maintaining the trainer auditing schedule to ensure annual audits of trainers and programs.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Business, Operations Management or related field;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET);
  • Proven experience in client management within a resources environment;
  • 3-5 years experience in an Operations Manager or similar role;
  • Experience in a learning and development or similar role;
  • Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management;
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles;
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASQA and the VET quality framework;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the resources sector;
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to develop direct reports;
  • Strong level of computer literacy, particularly the Microsoft suite;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to resolve day to day issues and meet ongoing challenges;
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, drive, initiative and desire to attain the goals of the organisation;
  • Demonstrated customer service skills in dealing with clients and internal staff;
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and control own workload to meet deadlines;
