This comprehensive online course covers the latest Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws, incorporating the requirements of the Tasmanian WHS Act 2012 and Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022.
This course will take you through the relevant health and safety legislative requirements of construction work in Tasmania. You’ll learn how to identify construction hazards and risk control measures, health and safety communication and reporting processes, and incident and emergency response procedures.
This course is approved by WorkSafe Tasmania and a Statement of Attainment will be issued upon successful completion.
Important Information
Aveling cannot issue the physical White Card. The White Card can only be issued by WorkSafe Tasmania. You’ll need to complete a Construction Induction Card Application Form and follow the steps below after finishing the course in order to obtain your Tasmanian White Card:
As per the WorkSafe Tasmania requirements, White Cards (construction induction) can only be issued to learners who completed their training whilst resident in Tasmania.
This course is delivered via Aveling’s online Learning Management System (LMS). Once you have booked and paid, you will receive a booking confirmation email containing a link to gain access to the system and your course.
Upon enrolling, you will have access to the course for 90 days. Within this time, you must successfully complete:
The verbal assessment and practical demonstration are carried out in one session via video call (webcam/smart phone required).
This session will take about 30 minutes and must be completed within 30 days of completing the online learning component. Bookings are essential.
If participants have not successfully completed all above components within 90 days of enrolment, they will be required to re-enrol in the course.
Please note: the assessment for this course is conducted in English and must be completed without the aid of a translator.
As part of the assessment process, you will be required to verify your identity.
PPE requirements for assessment
Our assessment requires participants to demonstrate proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Due to the enhanced hygiene requirements associated with COVID, you are required to provide your own PPE and ensure it is in good working order before the assessment. You will need:

A conversational level of English is required to complete this course, as during the assessment you will need to listen to instructions and respond clearly to questions in English. You will also be required to read and interpret signs and procedures and write short, simple notes when you fill in a basic form.
