If you are responsible for any level of work health and safety (WHS) in your organisation, you need to understand the systems in place and how to facilitate them in line with legislation.

The ‘Compliance and WHS management systems’ course provides competencies to assist with implementing and managing WHS compliance within the workplace.

You will learn how to assist in establishing and maintaining workplace compliance with WHS laws, including identifying applicable WHS laws, duties, rights and obligations, and the necessary actions to ensure WHS compliance in the workplace. You will also learn how to contribute to implementing a plan for a work health and safety management system (WHSMS) that applies to your own workplace.

Many workplaces use contractors which come with their own implications for applying WHS laws. You will learn how to identify contractor duties, establish organisation WHS compliance requirements associated with those duties, communicate and monitor contractor compliance with these requirements, and implement required responses to identified non-compliance.

This course forms one of three sessions that make up the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. Upon successful completion of this course you will achieve three two Units of Competency that can be used as partial completion of the Certificate IV. To learn more, visit the qualification webpage.
