Understand and mitigate psychosocial hazards in your workplace.
Nearly 1 in 5 people experience poor mental health each year in Australia, and nearly half of us will experience poor mental health during our lives. As we commonly spend a third of our lives at work, it is a key setting to improve and support mental health.
According to the Australian Government’s Comcare*, psychological claims on average account for the highest costs workers compensation, and it has been highlighted within WA’s new WHS Act (2020); both business imperatives to prioritise the mitigation of workplace psychosocial hazards.
Aimed at HR professionals, managers, safety officers, and anyone committed to creating a supportive workplace, this comprehensive one-day course is designed to equip participants with an in-depth understanding of the various psychosocial risks that employees may encounter in their work environments.
Learners explore the identification, assessment, and mitigation of factors that can adversely affect the psychological health and well-being of employees. Throughout the day, you will be introduced to topics such as mental health in the workplace, legislative requirements, types of hazards, psychological safety, work design and reporting and responding to issues.
Interactive sessions will guide you through the process of developing and implementing effective strategies and interventions to prevent psychosocial hazards.
By the end of this course, you will not only have gained valuable insights into creating a healthier workplace but also the skills to positively impact employee morale, reduce absenteeism, and improve overall organisational productivity.
