Supporting ‘Pack the Chopper’ for Food Bank

After taking part in last year’s inaugural ‘Pack the Chopper’, AVELING are proud to again help WA Police Air Wing, alongside other local businesses, in donating a chopper-load of food for Food Bank.

Our team collected a total of 7 boxes full of food, which were dropped off to Police Air Wing in Jandakot this morning ready to be distributed to Western Australians in need.

The holidays can be a difficult time for many, and even more so in 2020 after such a challenging year. If you would like to help Food Bank, please visit their website for information.

Special thanks to Siobhan Jones from Police Air Wing who gave some of our staff and their families a fabulous personal tour of their facilities!

AVELING to give unemployed workers FREE access to skill-boosting online courses

Australia’s unemployment rate peaked in July, a consequence of COVID-19 and the huge economic impacts across Australia and the globe.

The most recent statistics put Australia’s unemployment rate at 7.0% and underemployment rate at 10.4%. There are many thousands of people looking for work and they are competing with thousands more.

As Australia climbs out of the chaos that is 2020, AVELING would like to lend a hand to those in need, helping them be a little more competitive in their search for a job.

From December 1 to January 10, those seeking employment will be able to access a set of free courses designed to provide essential skills to prepare workers to re-enter the workplace and hit the ground running.

CEO Tony Aveling says: “AVELING understands this year has been tough on everyone, and as a training organisation, we have seen firsthand how learning new skills and boosting a resume can lead to new opportunities. That’s why we have come up with this initiative to help workers up-skill and re-enter the workforce.

It has always been our philosophy to help out those in need, and offering free courses to unemployed workers is just our way of giving back to our community; it is our gift over the holidays to help bring a little cheer and help people get back to work in 2021.

The skill-booster courses cover six key areas of knowledge needed in most workplaces:

Participants can undertake these courses, receive a certificate of participation to add to their resume and show employers that their knowledge is up to date and they are committed to actively building their skills to succeed.

As a family-owned WA-based company, AVELING endeavours to do what it can to help out the Perth community and beyond. Earlier this year, they also provided free courses to help over 50s get back into the workforce which was a resounding success, and continues to offer a Mental Health Awareness online course free of charge to ensure everyone has access to the important tools and information much needed in times like these.
